Hillary: first Independent party president?

John Quincy Adams said, “ Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflections that your vote is never lost.” That seems to be the slogan of Independents trying to break the power, monopoly, influence and corruption within our two major political parties.

The last viable presidential candidate making a run for the White House on an Independent ticket was Ross Perot. In 1992, he financed and established the Reform Party of the United States and spent millions of dollars on television commercials educating the public on economy, foreign aid, taxes, government waste, campaign reform and term limits. He believed his new party was a “viable alternative” to Democratic and Republican political dominance.

Like Hillary Clinton, he was a major opponent of The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), claiming we were outsourcing our high paying skilled jobs in manufacturing and technology to foreign countries. The end result would have us all working at a Burger King for minimum wage. He won two out of three presidential debates and had a great opportunity of being president until he, like most politicians, shot himself in the foot.

According to a gallup poll, Perot was slightly ahead of the other candidates. Unfortunately, on July 16 he suspended his campaign because he thought Republican operatives were going to sabotage his daughter’s wedding. He re-entered the campaign on Oct. 1, but Newsweek labeled him a “quitter” and some voters were unsure Perot was still a candidate.

With all the controversy, he still received 19 percent of the popular vote; the best performance by an independent presidential candidate since Theodore Roosevelt ran on the “Bull Moose” Progressive platform in 1912.

The highest elected position ever held by a Progressive Party Independent member belongs to Jesse Ventura. The one-time professional wrestler was elected governor of Minnesota in 1998.

The 1912 presidential election was interesting. And this year’s election could have some similarities. Two of the three major candidates had previously won presidential elections. As vice president to McKinley, Roosevelt became president when McKinley was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz. He held office until 1909 and was succeeded by Howard Taft. At the time, he was the youngest president to hold office.

Roosevelt challenged Taft’s re-election and persued the Republican nomination. Taft won the party’s support at the Republican convention. Roosevelt, determined to win, called his own convention and formed the new Progressive Independent, “The Bull Moose Party.”

There were no divisions in the Democratic party. The Democrats nominated Woodrow Wilson as their candidate and with the endorsement of William Jennings Bryan, Wilson won 42 percent of the popular vote. Although he didn’t win the majority of the popular vote, Wilson won the large major states and had a huge majority in the Electoral College. The Democrats had reason to celebrate Roosevelt’s entry as a third party candidate. Wilson was one of only three democrats to be elected president between 1856 and 1932. It was the last time a third party representative came in second in the Electoral College.

Today, there is a contentious battle going on in the Democratic Party. Obama is almost certain to be their nominee. Meaning this year would be ideal for Hilary and Bill to jump on the platform of the Progressive Independent party.

Politically, the Kennedy’s, previous Clinton cabinet members and other top Democrats have deserted the Clintons in favor of Obama. Hillary isn’t going to give up the thought of sleeping in the White House bedroom again and Bill still has his favorite closets filled with skeletons from the past. So, why not follow the steps of Theodore Roosevelt and run together as Independents?

Despite the skewed numbers, polls show the general election would be fairly even regardless of which Democrat runs against McCain. If Obama and Hilary each receive 35 percent or more of the popular vote and can carry the big states with the majority of electoral votes, there’s a 50-50 chance an Independent Hilary can win the White House.

Hillary could become the first woman president, Bill will be the original “first man,” probably the first time in his life he can say that, and the voters will have real choices in a three party political system.

With Hillary as a third-party president, she would be in position to clean up the monopoly of influence and corruptive power in Washington. And the words of John Quincy Adams would be prophetic: “Voters would cherish the sweetest reflections that our vote is never lost.”

  1. Tom Says:

If Senator Obama makes his (democratic nominee) victory speech (as rumored) on May 20, 2008 then Senator Clinton should make her own speech the following morning. Her speech would be to declare her an Independent Candidate for the presidency of the United States for this November election. Screw the DNC..!! She actually could win this election in a 3 way contest.

  2. Susan Says:

I am so angry at the DNC right now that I’m willing to support this campaign. This is a great year for an Independent candidate. What better change than that!

  3. ariesta Says:

Hillary for president as an Independent! Time for her to jump ship and abandon the party like they have done to her and all of the thousands of people who voted for her.

  4. tom Says:

I would Support Hillary as a independent. Barack Wright jr scares me. I think Hillary could pull a joe lieberman and switch to independent and win the presidency.

  5. lorna Says:

As a 53 year old working class female I would vote for Hillary if she ran as an independent, even though I have always voted as a republican.

  6. EWS Says:

I would DEFINITELY suppot Hillary in an independent run for the Presidency, and so would all the other registered voters (3 of them) in my household.

  7. Concerned Says:

    Why the hell not?

Hillary has nothing to lose in the “democratic” party anymore. She doesn’t owe them a damn thing anymore. Most of its leaders (including so-called friends) have turned on her. Half of the democratic party will not vote for Obama in November anyway – whether she endorses him or not. So he’s a dead duck. The “democratic” party has attempted to disenfranchise TWO STATES just to try to push that Obama clown in the Dem nominee spot. And to top it off, the Obama spawn are taking the Hillary supporters for granted – saying that we will “get over it.” Plus, the thought of voting for McCain makes us sick – yet not nearly as sick as voting for Obama would be. And for those who have already left the democratic party recently and registered as Independents, it would be wonderful to have three real options on the ballot as opposed to two.

What I’m saying is – HELL YES! Hillary SHOULD run as an Independent candidate!!

  8. wasGOPnowInd Says:

    count me in too!

  9. William Says:

Do it you can win!!!!! Go Hillary!

  10. LINDA Says:

GO HILLARY – GO FOR IT!!!

THIS IS JUST WHAT WE NEED – A NEW TYPE OF LEADER AND A NEW PARTY TO GO WITH IT.

THE DNC DID NOT SUPPORT YOU THE WAY YOU DESERVED TO BE SUPPORTED.

DON’T QUIT – WE NEED YOU!!!

  11. Deb -- It All Started With a Hat Says:

Hillary could win as independent with this Secret Ingredient: a Republican guv as her Veep. She’d split off the Republican vote. Take the heartland and cede Obama his narrow constituency. See my electoral calculus – she could take it by splitting the boys.

  12. Perla Says:

Real CHANGE = Hillary running Independent

She won every big state and she will win the popular vote

  13. Zhou yue Says:

She should and must run as independent candidate, regardless the pleads from the democrat not too. She also must not joint as Barrack Obama VP for she only become his vehicle for success, because he truly win on merely charm, speak and sweet talk and not the real deal job and promise. Even if they had Al Gore as his VP, let it be. She is the strongest candidate ever for run as independent. Unlike Ross Perot that lack of the people knowledge on who he was, Hillary should rise on her own feet because people now realize that she is the best President candidate ever for the time like this. This nation needs the fighter type yet at the same time know how to solve the economy and security problems. Thought she shall lack of the congress and senate especially from the democrat support if she becoming the president but she shall enjoy more support from the people if she had plan that published to the people, and let them be the judge and not that politicians. It’s the time right now for make the vote of the people truly be heard. If they had opposed her proposal that the people of this nation had heard and see, then they more likely shall lose their own support. Now this is a hint for all of you, since Iowa convention I had seen already that the Democrat super delegates party actually already taken side to Barrack Obama for they think that they could truly make him as their own tools and toy when she truly had the mind of her own. If all of you truly wanted to make her as the independent President then first things to do is mailed all of your supports to her to take that step and after she agreed then collect all the fund that she needs desperately to do so (the reason that she lost is lack of the political machine and funds that already support Barrack Husein Obama from the first place). Like she had said before all the vote should be counted (poor Michigan and Florida). The reason for her to stand now against Democrat party and I truly believe that she could win are:
    1. She going to bring the change to the USA by standing as the people champion. here’s how; people were tired of the bi party system, though give stability but most of the time only express the party needs and not the people needs.
2.The people of this nation regardless of their the background whether rich, poor or middle class gonna show that this great nation were not belongs to super rich people or big boys at all.
    3. The charm, smooth talk only lasted in the campaign but not in the real deal situation. Learn from Indonesia and any other nation that had sweet talker as their leader when the elected president or leader cannot fulfill his promises during the campaign then the people shall suffer.
    God Save America

  14. Carmen Says:

Hillary, If you are reading this blog… I have absolutely NO RESPECT for the DNC and the media. I have seen how they have subjectively influenced the voters by ignoring the lack of experience of Mr. Obama and hiding all of his flaws until it is inevitable to hide them.

I am absolutely disgusted at the BIAS coverage of CNN (Communist National Network) which is basically an infomercial for OBAMA. He can do no wrong according to the media. The DNC, Ms. Pelosi and Howard Dean have also contributed to making your life miserable by trying to force you out of this race. How can we call this a democratic race… when BIG MONEY and the MEDIA are working against you.

Also, with friends like fellow Democrats like Richardson and Gore, who needs enemies when the very people you helped to get to the top are now stabbing you in the back. In other words, you owe NOTHING to those BACKSTABBERS and INGRATES called the DEMOCRATS.

Obama claims he wants “CHANGE” in Washington yet he is running after all of your supporters and trying to steal them from you. The Clintons helped many Democrats in office today as well as many African Americans unlike any other president in recent history and how do they all pay you back and show their appreciation…. YES, by flocking to Mr. ALL TALK POPULARITY. So, Hillary have no pity for the DNC as they have had no consideration for you.

PLEASE help us make history and RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT and I am confident you will be the next PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!!!!

Yes, the FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT who ran as a DEMOCRAT and TURNED INDEPENDENT AND WON!

  15. Patrick Says:

Wow, where do I start. I found this by pondering, if Hillary is that obsessed for the presidency, that she would drop her party. After ready your thoughts, I see now that is a possibility. I think she should do it. Give it a shot. It won’t change a thing except put in stone what we already know.
Clinton has no respect for anything besides herself. She would do ANYTHING to be president. She is more out of touch with the American People then China is.
    Yeah, that bad.
So let’s say the impossible happens. She switches parties to maintain her long shot for the Office. What does that say to you?
It tells me that she’ll change the rules anytime she doesn’t get what she wants or gets her way.
Hillary, you’re the last thing America needs. Buck up and take a beating like everyone else. She is nothing more than a good joke.

  16. DontStopHillary Says:

Keep Running, Hillary. Even if you have to go Independent.

    http://DontStopHillary.com

  17. JameyOkc Says:

HILLARY! You owe the DNC nothing. Dont count on them; if they won’t support you now, they wont later! You have the momentum. Check out aol straw poll, you lead 48 states over Obama by 30%. He cant win! You can!
Im republican… sold out by bush whom I had loved. America has been ransacked by the oil industry with no policeman on duty. Our economy needs you!!

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER QUIT…… on US!

  18. Craig McKnight Says:

I am life long Democrat and I support Hillary Clinton, like many of my friends and most of my family I will happily switch to Independant status to support Hillary Clinton should she decide to run as an Independant, the media bias has been blatantly against Sen. Clinton I am a Gay American, and a Jewish American, after seeing the videotape of Sen. Obama talking with others about how all people should be tested for HIV, and hearing Obama calling it an AIDS test, and watching him re-iterate 3 times that, ” I was tested WITH MY WIFE MICHELLE ” and refering to an HIV test as an AIDS test, this told me he was extremely uncomfortable with even discussing it, I have watched for many years how as Democrats we have seen the Black Church’s homophobia seperate people within our party, something that Coretta Scott King addressed years ago, that Obama must not of been listening to, along with articles written from before the time Sen. Obama had even decided to run that were written by Lynn Sweet and others there is no way I would ever vote for Obama, now the Democrat party is choosing to seat delegates well long after Hillary is pushed out that decision is a hard slap in the face only to watch for the 3rd time to see the people of Florida’s votes not count.

  19. Hillary Supporter Says:

You will have my vote! Go Hillary! Obama is such a fake. I definitely won’t vote for him. I am not a McCain fan, but between McCain and Obama, my vote will be for McCain.

  20. sophie moore Says:

The Independent Party would be ideal for Hillary to fulfill her long term dream of helping people. Has anyone contacted her about switching parties? She owes not loyalty to the DNC or the political machinery. It is more important that she is nominated as a presidential candidate and the people given a fair and honest way to express who they want for President.

  21. sylvie shene Says:

    she has my vote.

  22. Leon Aronoff Says:

Hillary Clinton will have a very good chance to become the next President if she would run on an Independent Ticket. She would get more votes than Obama and McCain put together. She would also get millions of dollars in donations. This would pay off all her campaign debts without Obama’s charity, and have enough money to run an effective campaign for President

  23. Hillary Supporter Says Says:

Go Hillary Go. you deserve to win after all the good you have done for America, to hell with the DMC they don’ care about you and have turned their backs for someone like Obama that is a slap in the face, You have spent the time and money go ahead and run on the Independent ticket you have nothing to lose except the ones that have turned their backs on you , I have been a Democrat for the past 65 years I have worked, supported ,and donated to the party but no longer , I rather spend my hard earned money to get rid of the turncoats and the screwed up media, but I am making the change , So come on you still have the backing for the top Position of PRESIDENT

  25. Hillary - Independent '08 Says:

Hillary, America needs you! We don’t need the Democratic Party! We need a president who will stand up for us (and our right to vote)!

  26. Gary Cartwright Says:

If Hillary does not get the Democratic nomination she should run as an independent! Otherwise I won’t be at the polls. McCain or Obama is not the right choice for America!!!!!!

  27. robert schwab Says:

Get Colin Powell as the Veep and she’d win.

  28. PA Guy Says:

I am a life-long Dem, but I will not hesitate voting for Hillary Clinton as an Independant

  29. Destiny Says:

We are for Hillary – NOT a party!!!

  30. Steve Says:

We’d vote for Hillary Clinton no matter what party she’s with – Colin Powell as VP is a great idea.

  31. V For Vendetta Says:

    Please Run Independent!!

She has the most popular votes in the History of primary elections!!

    Please Run Independent!!

She won the most number of swing states!!

    Please Run Independent!!

  32. JD Says:

If Hillary doesnt run as an independent, my vote goes to the lessor of two evils, John McCain. I have been a life long Dem but after watching the DNC treat Florida like the Rep did in 2000, like many others come Monday I register as an independent and campain for a McCain victory vs Obama.

  33. Cathy in Ks. Says:

Hillary, it’s time to end the tyranny of the 2-party system. The republican party has been out of touch with mainstream Americans and now sadly so is the democratic party.

You show true “grit” and the “fighting spirit.” Our country needs you and after seeing what the democratic rules committee did on Sat., I fear that democracy is truly at risk in our country. We have forgotten why our fore-fathers fought the American Revolution – “taxation without representation.”

The democratic party has failed us. It is now dominated by a few “elites” who think they know the will of 600, 000 voters in Michigan and for whom “playing by the rules” is more important than fairness and justice. What would have happened if the founding fathers of our country had played by the rules of King George? Would we be the great nation we are today – the symbol of hope, freedom from oppression, the beacon of “light” in a world that for many is filled with starvation, misery, and poverty?

Hillary, you must run as an “independent.” You owe it to this great nation which needs you in their hour of need. I know many who would vote for you in a heartbeat! We can never vote for Obama and McCain, although a man of experience and integrity, simply does share the same views on so many issues that we care about passionately.

  34. Penny W. Says:

    Hillary,

For years (over 30), I have always voted for the democratic nominee. Unfortunately, in all of those years, there have only been a handful that I really liked. Instead, I fell into line and voted for the better of two bads for “the good of tha party”. No more! The leadership skills that Obama brings to the table are clearly shown in his inability to effect change at a church he went to for 20 years, a church that seeks to divide and further perpetuate anger and hatred. His lack of courage evident in his unwillingness to walk away. His poor judgement sickening in that he would take his children to listen to such trash. I am not running for president, but even I know when it is time to take a stand and Howard – pay attention here – I am one sweetie who will not be coming home to roost!

Hillary, I have watched you for many years, have waited for you to run and really believe that you are the best person for the job. You are smart, knowledgable, and care about this country. Please don’t support a party that hasn’t supported you! I don’t have much but if you run as an independent, I promise that I will come up with at least $1,ooo to contribute and will fight to be one of the first to do so.

This has been the most exciting and sad election of my life. Please, contimue on, as an independent…

    Penny

  35. Gina Says:

I will be changing to Independent this week and so will several family members.

  36. Evelyn Cortez Says:

Two months ago, I thought I was the only one thinking of not voting at all ( voting for McCain is a little hard to swallow ) in November if Obama became the nominee, but as time went by and I saw and heard the viciousness of Obama supporters, I have now decided to vote for Mccain. The guy is a war hero, after all. I am a new citizen of this great country and this is my first time to vote. I’m also a registered Democrat. After these horrible primaries and stupid caucuses, my husband and I are turning Independent. These Democrat politicians like Richardson etal have no debt of honor. Debt of honor is very important in my birth country. I am also appalled at the dishonorable treatment of Sen. Clinton . She was treated with utter contempt and viciousness. She then should run as Independent. She doesn’t owe the Democratic Party her loyalty.

  37. cmt Says:

Hillary please save us from this democratic leadership and run as an independent, they have forsaken you and this country for their own gains, are we not a democracy anymore or just a party going so extreme left that it’s Marxism where the people do have rights.

I know that you are dedicated to the party, however, this country needs you as our leader or we are dead in the water. If you choose not to run as an independent then I will go for the patriot, that’s better than the other guy!

  38. cmt Says:

oops— that Marxism where people do not have rights

  39. d Says:

    Go Independent Hillary!
    America needs you!
The DNC Gored you! Women and hispanics, as well as Middle class America will vote for you!

  40. d Says:

    Hillary and Gen. Wes Clark!

    yes, they’ll win in November

  41. Lori Says:

I will happily vote for Hillary as an Independent. I very much wish she would leave the Democratic Party. After Saturday, May 31, I no longer affiliate myself with the Democratic Party. Go Independent Hillary!

  42. Glenda Says:

I agree with Penny 100%. It’s time we showed the DNC they don’t make our decisions for us. I am ashamed to call myself a democrat anymore. The day Obama is announced dem nominee, I will be changing my status from dem to independent the very next morning. All who feel so inclined, please join me in doing this.

I have no respect for Howard Dean, and Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have the right to decide who the nominee is. I so hope Hillary will run on the independent ticket this fall, and show the DNC jesters just how irrelevant and out of touch they are.

Hillary Clinton + Wesley Clark = win in Nov

  43. Sury Tumuluri Says:

    An appeal to Hillary Clinton

If you are denied Democratic Party nomination I urge you to contest as Independent. This is your duty to America, the World and us – the definite majority of American voters who prefer you as our President. We support you because unlike Barack Obama and like John McCain you took to Politics and aspiring for Presidency driven by your passion for Public Service and Common good.
John McCain assumes if the fortunate few the Rich and Wealthy are facilitated they would in turn do lot more good to the Common man than what the System can do. You want the System itself do well to the common man and he is not dependent on the benevolence of the fortunate few. For this reason we want you as the President.
As the campaign unfolds Barack Obama will be exposed of his true color and personality and he has absolutely no chance even against McCain. Moreover he is unfit to be President. He is immature and too slow to notice the obvious like the Church he now disowned after two + Decades of faithful allegiance. He will not hesitate to barter American values for personal gains. He is worse than George Bush.
It may tempt your advisers that you will the automatic choice in 2012 and you should play the game and just wait. If you follow such advice you will be denying the Country Good and Intelligent Governance which is the vital need in this critical period.
Fortunately you would not need big money yourself. McCain’s money establishes you are by far superior and better qualified than Obama. Obama’s money will propogate the superiority of the Democratic ideals. And every one will be reminded that the motherly youthful Hillary looming large over the Infant Terrible and the Wonder Kid that Hillary is the one who truly represents those ideals with more authenticity and more humane interpretation.
    So, Hillary GO! Go Hillary!
For the sake of America – Go!

  44. Mirtha L. Balcazar Says:

    That’s right!

Senator Clinton, DO NOT let them talk to you into waiting until 2012. If they deny you the nomination now that you have the majority of the popular vote and the majority of the prospective electoral votes, only God knows what excuses the DNC will come up with to take you (and us, the voters) down again.
Besides, how can we, in good conscience, continue to support a “democratic” party that is committing fraud by not counting ALL the votes?

Senator Clinton, DO NOT let the DNC make you feel guilty about our profound dissatisfaction with the way they have handled the whole affair. It is OUR decision to vote for you because we think you are the best person
running to be the President of the USA. It wiil also be our decision what to do next if you are not the democratic nomminee.

As for me, I wiil be READY TO MAKE HISTORY by voting for the winning party, the one for the moderates, the one that counts every vote, the one
that treats EVERYBODY WITH RESPECT, the one that puts forth capable, knowledgeable, caring candidates for us to choose from. I owe it to myself, to my children, to our great country. SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON, WILL
YOU PLEASE LEAD THIS PARTY? THE INDEPENDENT AMERICAN PARTY?

    Thank you vey much.

  45. Terron Says:

I hadn’t made up my mind what candidate I would support until Saturday. I watched as the rules committee did something that I thought the republican party would do. I am now for Hillary all the way. The thing that made me so mad was the fact that the party had the odasity to do what they did and then think that they were speaking for the people. We all know thats true, basically they showed us what we can expect come November. I will fully support Hillary as an independent. That would wake the DNC up. It would make them look at what they did to her and the fact the none or a few only supported. What the failed to realize is that is not about the campaign, or party its about the people and their conclusions didn’t reflect the will of the people. Even if she dosen’t run as a independent then I will be voting for John come November, because atleast then you know what you will be getting.

  46. Lanajeane Says:

As the primarys are closing out tonight and Obama has garnered enough delegates to take the nomination I pray Clinton goes Independent. We NEED HER IN WASHINGTON!

Let’s remember, if she stays in the Race after tonight under a different party she will need our support. WE MUST SUPPORT HER WITH MONEY! She will need it to reboost.

We love you Hillary. I promised to send money for any renewed run!
I will VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON!!!

  47. Lanajeane Says:

    http://www.hillaryclinton.com/splash/sdmt/

Hillary asked-Go to her site and let her know you will support her no matter what!

  48. Greg Says:

I will vote for Hiliary no matter what. She should run as an independent and she would win. Obama is an egotistical maniac. He surely represents the dark side. I would hate to see the idiots he will appoint in our government.

If obama is elected, the greatest depression will occur. If you thought Bush was bad, hang on. Vote for Hiliary. Write-In.

  49. Beverly Says:

I have been saying all along that Hilary should run on the Independent ticket. I feel sure she could win and it would be so great to have three tickets to choose from. It’s time we had a women for president and it’s time we had more than two parties to choose from. Please Hilary, do it, I know you can win and you will not regret it!

  50. joann Says:

IT IS TIME FOR A THIRD PARTY. “LOYALTY TO THE PARTY”(SOUNDS TOO COMMUNISTIC). THE (UN)DEMOCRATIC PARTY WAS NOT LOYAL TO SENATOR CLINTON – ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS LET THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS PREVAIL INSTEAD OF THEIR OUTRAGEOUS SHOW OF DISLOYALTY TO SENATOR CLINTON AND OUTRAGEOUS DEMONSTRATION OF FAVORITISM TO SENATOR OBAMA. SENATOR CLINTON IS THE ONE WHO WOULD ACTUALLY CHANGE OUR OPTIONS TO A THIRD CHOICE – AND, SHE WOULD BE SUCCESSFUL, AND BE PRESIDENT. PLEASE, PLEASE SENATOR CLINTON GO INDEPENDENT! OTHERWISE , FOR ME, IT IS GOODBYE UNDEMOCRATIC PARTY AND HELLO MCCAIN.

  51. SEAN Says:

The only thing this will do is split the Democrat votes between two candidates and ensure a win for McCain.

    Bad idea.

  52. Michael and Cynthia Says:

    Folks,

We worked for the Clintons in the 90s and have nothing but the utmost respect for them. We can only imagine the mourning they are going through after such a historic campaign that ends in Hillary not securing the nomination.

It’s our opinion that while Hillary is undoubtably and overwhelmingly appreciative of the support she has received, she is not so egotistical as to hand the election to John McCain and ruin any future she has in the Democratic Party she’s served for over 30 years. And there’s no honest political analysis to show anything other would happen. If she ran as an independent, she would be Ross Perot where McCain plays Bill.

Hillary will support Obama and campaign for him. Those of us who love and respect her, those of us who believe in what she stands for should do the same and encouage her to continue to work and fight for us in the United States Senate – where she will have a very powerful voice.

Make no mistake, John McCain is the antithesis of everything Hillary stands for.

  53. Lee Says:

Like many Clinton supporters, I don’t like Obama … I can not longer recognize, nor do I like the Democratic party anymore … therefore, I wish Hillary would run as an Independent. It’s worked for other candidates … like Joe Leiberman. At least as an independent democracy would prevail if Hillary won the popular vote … again.

  54. Read Hillary's resume Says:

If Hillary runs as an independant she will fail just as she has failed at everything she has ever done. Let’s look at a list of her “accomplishments and qualifications”.

Junior attorney at a small not for profit law firm. Probably her best work ever.

Lead attorney in the Waterwhite debacle.

Failed to even get her 1993 healthcare reforms to a vote in Congress when her party was in the majority.

Blew and enormous lead in delegates, money and fundraising in this campaign.

That is just a few of the highlights. If you people really want to vote for a lifetime loser go ahead. I have all the confidence in the world that she will blow an independant run just like she has everything else she her tried.

  55. Helga Ganger Says:

Hillary should run on the independent ticket. She was betrayed by a lot of people that really owed her their support including a large faction of the Democratic party. I truly believe it was the result of pure unadulterated mysogeny. Look at what Ted Kennedy did. His own constituents voted for her and he betrayed her and them by endorsing Obama. The party threw her under a bus; and so did the Press. Mathews, Olberman, Jacobs and Cooper the four “frat boys” trashed her night after night. If it hadn’t been for them she would have won hands down. Hillary: Go independent, stay away from the parasite Lieberman and you can still win. Loyally Yours… Helga Ganger

  57. Rigoberto Says:

Hillary, is time to show some humongous balls and run as an Independent, the Democratic party only use you as a decoy, because, at the end all the support was going to be for Obama. Now is time for you to write your own story without any parasites overshadowing you. Go Hillary 100% with you. Rigo
