I just read a couple of your articles and I have to say, your perspectives are refreshing and your arguments, thought provoking. I appreciate the fact that even though you don’t agree with Palin’s politics, you respect what she has to offer, as a new face of politics.

My wife and I are new to the area (moved here just before Christmas) from rural Eastern Oregon and haven’t quite gotten used to the politics that are played in every aspect of government. Things in Oregon are screwed up, but hey, where aren’t they now days? But in a small town, at least you knew who not to trust and when to watch your back. Here, we are lost in a sea of urban sprawl.

The reason I’m writing you, is that I found out we are soon to be (sort of) neighbors. We just made an offer on a foreclosed home up in Virginia City Highlands and (if the inspections pass) will close near the end of August. The county says you are the owner of the lot next door (at the end of Adobe Spur Rd). There is a “for sale” sign on it from “Chase,” but no one seems to know anything about it. So, I thought I’d go straight to the horses mouth and ask. Is it for sale? If so, we might be interested.

Aside from the land, I’d really be interested in sitting down over a cup of coffee. My wife used to be an Oregon State Trooper (for 11 1/2 years). To make a long story short, she reported criminal activity by another Trooper and we ended up in a wrongful termination lawsuit in Federal court. It wasn’t about the money, just the justice. So, in April of this year, they saw what huge evidence she had against them and came crawling. We settled and achieved a certain amount of justice. But now, they are causing untold troubles for her in her attempts to get work down here (we moved here because I got a job in Reno). You seem to be on top of things around here, and frankly, we could use your advise. Either that, or we could shake your hand and enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Please write me back, if you are so inclined.

    Thanks for your time,

    Stacey and Peggi Jones
